The mission of the Deacons is to serve the Lord through the ministries of Compassion, Prayer, and Encouragement. The Deacons have developed four basic categories of nurturing to the congregation and community; Contact, Assisatance, Response, Encouragement (C.A.R.E.) The Deacons oversee the sending of Flowers and Fruit Baskets to people in mourning or suffering ill health, as well as mail dozens of cards throughout the year to acknowlege a variety of occasions or circumstances. In addition to the C.A.R.E. notes program, the Deacons provide Thanksgiving meals and help with the STAR program which gives gifts during the Christmas Season.
